Career Story
The work I do, where I do it and what I care about.
I'm Al-Roman Molla, a backend systems engineer and Computer Science & Engineering student at North Western University in Khulna, Bangladesh.
At NeoSaver I build the backend of an emergency response platform that connects patients with nearby ambulance drivers. It ranks available drivers by distance, runs a live multi-round fare negotiation over WebSockets and takes each ride from OTP verification to completion. I also built its AWS infrastructure with Terraform and its GitHub Actions deployment, and I'm now building the internal admin dashboard for the team.
At W.A. Management & Consulting I own the backend of a B2B multi-tenant property-management SaaS built with TypeScript, Bun and Hono, including a payments module on Stripe: checkout, invoicing, proration, tax, refunds and disputes, with a transactional outbox so no payment event is lost. I also work on 1550+, a live SAT-prep platform, where I built a new diagnostic creation flow.
From December 2025 to May 2026 I interned at Sipheron Technologies, building TypeScript and Hono backend modules and n8n workflow automations. On my own time I built NovaPay, a microservice backend for payroll and international transfers, to practice the hard parts of money systems: idempotent requests, a double-entry ledger, jobs that resume after a crash and tracing with OpenTelemetry.
I'm most interested in system design, distributed systems and backend performance: the parts of a system that decide whether it keeps working at scale. Away from the keyboard, I follow football and like discovering how the world works, and where it's heading.
What I Do
Backend & API Engineering
Designing and building REST APIs and services with Java/Spring Boot and TypeScript (Hono, Bun), backed by PostgreSQL and Redis.
Real-Time Systems
Live features over WebSockets (STOMP): driver bidding, trip-state sync, GPS tracking and real-time notifications.
Payment Systems
Stripe checkout, invoicing, proration, tax, refunds and disputes, with idempotent requests, a double-entry ledger and a transactional outbox so payment events are never lost.
Multi-Tenant SaaS
Schema-per-tenant PostgreSQL, role-based access and plan entitlements, so each business customer's data and features stay separate.
Cloud Deployment
Shipping and running production backends on AWS (EC2, VPC, RDS, ElastiCache, S3, ECR), built with Terraform and deployed with Docker and GitHub Actions.
